Explore the fascinating Orkney Craft Trail and discover unique Orcadian designs in jewellery, paintings, pottery and stunning traditional chairs made from driftwood and oat straw.

Uncover the distinctive Fair Isle knitting style on the Shetland Craft Trail where you can buy beautiful jumpers and hats with the pattern handmade by the Fair Isle Knitters. Stop off at the Shetland Jewellery workshop in Weisdale to see craftsmen making exceptional pieces inspired by Scandinavian mythology, local wildlife and traditional Celtic designs.

For more island arts and crafts, head to the Outer Hebrides and visit the Isle of Harris where you can peruse stunning local paintings inspired by the spectacular surrounding landscape at the Ardbuidhe Cottage Gallery near Drinishader or enjoy the cosy atmosphere of the Skoon Art Café.

Scotland’s Craft Town, West Kilbride, boasts eight craft studios offering the chance to view and buy quality work from both amateur artists and those with international acclaim. These include Hastingwood Basket Works who specialise in traditional willow baskets.
