You can easily get to Scotland by road from around the rest of Britain. Inter-town bus services (known as coaches throughout Britain) duplicate many train routes, often with much cheaper ticket prices.

The frequency of service is also usually comparable to the train although longer distance journey times are usually much longer by coach. Modern long-distance coaches are comfortable and are equipped with food and toilet facilities with Wi-Fi access also available on some routes.

An innovative overnight sleeper service operated by Stagecoach also runs 7 nights a week between London and Glasgow. Passengers have their own berth as well as a standard seat for greater comfort during their journey.

Coach services to Scotland are operated by National Express, which runs routes to Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Inverness. Megabus also operates some routes across the border, servicing Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness and Perth.

Full details of coach routes and timetables of services running to Scotland can be found on the TransportDirect website.
