    Providing the ideal base for walking and bird watching holidays, the cottages are situated within walking distance of the beaches, an RSPB centre, Scotland's most southerly lighthouse and a beautiful turfed roof restaurant. Peace and quiet.

    The cottages are situated on the Mull Road heading to the  Mull of Galloway, Scotland's most southerly point, and enjoy sweeping sea views to the Irish Sea over a dramatic coastal landscape teeming with wildlife and gentle farmland.  Cottages and B & B withing walking distance to our beaches.  Auld Smiddy Cottage and Glen Auchie Cottage are full of character and offer home-from-home comforts providing the perfect Scottish retreat. Sleeping three/four, Glen Auchie is an 18th century traditional stone country cottage set in 0.5 acre of mature garden. It has two bedrooms. Alternatively, Auld Smiddy is also a traditional stone country cottage which has recently been converted to offer beautiful open-plan accommodation for two including a conservatory with spectacular views and a cosy log stove that's perfect for chiller nights.  Both cottages are pet friendly.

    Fantastic local attractions include the beautiful Castle Kennedy Gardens and Logan Botanic Gardens, the Stranraer Museum, the historic Castle of St John, and the RSPB Mull of Galloway, located at the southern most point of the Rhinns of Galloway near charming Drummore. The area also offers first-class cycling and walking routes with Scotland's longest and most challenging walking route, the Southern Upland Way starting in the region.  There is now a walk from Stranraer out to the Mull of Galloway also this walk joins on to the Southern Upland Way as you reach Stranraer.  Beautiful coastal walk to Scotland's most southerly point - Mull of Galloway.  Great fishing and sea fishing area also amazing bird watching.  Visit the beautiful harbour village of Portpatrick which is not to far away.  In Drummore we have a great voluntary staffed information centre with massive information about the area.


    In the B & B and the cottages we have lots of brochures and literature about the area also menu's from all our local eating places.

    Road Directions

    From  Ayr to Stranraer take A77, on reaching Stranraer  take the A716 to Drummore and Mull of Galloway. From Dumfries take A75 to Glenluce bypass then after the bypass take  the B7084 over to Drummore.  On reaching Drummore take the B7041 heading to the Mull of Galloway until

    you reach the Mull of Galloway (3 mile) brown tourist attraction sign, turn right along this road, Cairngaan Road (we are a short distance along on the right hand side - East Muntloch Croft B & B, parking to the front left or around the back of house.  The B & B and the cottages are 2 miles from Drummore.

    Public Transport Directions

    From the nearest information centre:- From Stranraer take A716 to Drummore,  follow signs for the Mull of Galloway  until you reach the Mull of Galloway (3 miles) brown tourist atttraction sign,  turn right along Cairngaan Road, B & B - East Muntloch Croft short distance along  on right hand side.

    Getting there by railway:- Train arrives in Stranraer, Take A716 to Drummore and follow the about.
    Getting there by aeroplane:- From Prestwick Airport take A77 to Stranraer then as above.

    Getting there by ferry:- Both the Stena and P & O are situated on the Cairnryan Road, take the A77 until you reach Stranraer then follow the A716 road out to Drummore, then as above.

    Getting there by bus - On reaching Stranraer get off at Port Rodie, there you will get a bus from Stranraer to Drummore, this is as far as the bus service goes, the B & B and cottages are 2 miles from Drummore heading to the Mull of Galloway.
