Braemar Youth Hostel is a mix of traditional and modern with many homely touches such as big comfy sofas, a large self-catering kitchen and a spacious dining room. The youth hostel provides a wide range of rooms including many private and family rooms and is a popular choice with families, groups and outdoor enthusiasts looking for budget accommodation.
Braemar is an ideal base for exploring Royal Deeside, the mighty Cairngorms and in winter is a great location for skiing and boarding at Glenshee and The Lecht. Balmoral Castle, the Queen’s Scottish home, is nearby (open between April-July) and there are many distilleries to visit, including Lochnagar. Other activities include hillwalking, mountain biking, wildlife watching and golf.
Dogs are now welcome at Braemar, for a small fee, when guests book a private room. Please notify us in advance to ensure that a dog friendly room is allocated.
