Corran Lighthouse Lodge, Ardgour, Nr Fort William, Inverness-shire, PH33 7AA

    Corran Lighthouse Lodge, located on the shores of Loch Linnhe, 8 miles south of Fort William, has been converted from the original lighthouse keepers' cottages into luxurious holiday accommodation comprising 5 double/twin en-suite bedrooms.

    A large elegant lounge with wood burning stove, a charming country kitchen with aga and a beautiful dining area provide spacious accommodation for upto 10 people.  Outside the large walled garden is perfect for games and barbecues and there is direct access to the beach.  An elevated decking area next to the lighthouse provides stunning views down Loch Linnhe.

    Built in 1857 by Robert Louis Stevenson's father and until, the lighthouse was one of a chain marking the route to the Caledonian Canal. The separate lighthouse is still in operation - without a fog horn!

    Access to the Lodge is via the Corran Ferry, which although only a 5 minute journey transports you to another world, of rich wildlife and stunning scenery.

    Local amenities include store and pub with access to Fort William for further shops.

    The Ardnamurchan peninsula is a magical area of mountains, wildlife, seas and lochs.  Adults and children alike will be captivated by all it has to offer.  A trip to Adrnamurchan Lighthouse takes you along single track roads with every turning offering you views to take your breath away.  Hilltops with stags majestically looking down on you, birds of prey flying overhead, beaches with white sand to compete with any foreign shore.  All this can be accessed from Corran Lighthouse Lodge.

    Living
    A luxurious living room, with fabulous views down Loch Linnhe, is the ideal place to relax. With a wood-burning stove and three comfy sofas, it is as cosy in the evenings as it is bright and airy through the day. The kitchen is full of character, has a complete range of appliances, including a four-ring oil Aga, electric cooker and oven. Next door is a spacious dining room, which seats 10 comfortably.
    For children, a space adjoining the downstairs hallway has been converted into a play area, with bean bags, TV, games and a DVD player. And, to ensure that every need is catered for, a large utility room, when you enter the Lodge, includes washing, drying and storage facilities.

    Sleeping
    There are five double bedrooms, four with en-suite shower, one with en-suite bath. Each room as a 6ft bed, which can be converted into 3ft twin beds upon request. Three of the bedrooms are upstairs and two downstairs. A small reading room upstairs looks out on to the Loch.

    Outside
    The Lodge is enclosed by a walled garden with direct access to the beach, and a large grassy area for outdoor games. Residents are welcome to use the barbecue and summer patio furniture.

    Road Directions

    From the South head to Glasgow then M74. At J4, join M73. At J2, join A8/M8. At J30, join M898 (Erskine Bridge). Travel over the Bridge. After entering Clydebank, branch left merging onto Great Western Road - signposted A82. Stay on A82 (approx 80 miles), at Crianlarich turn left, still on the A82

    From Edinburgh take the M9 north until junction 10, join the A84 (Crianlarich), this joins the A85 and then joins the A82

    Stay on A82, at Tyndrum there is the Green Welly Cafe. Continue travelling over Rannoch Moor to Glen Coe. Approx 2 miles after crossing the Ballachulish Bridge turn left onto the A861 (Corran Ferry). Take the ferry across to Ardgour (the last ferry is 21.30). The Lighthouse can be seen from the ferry, disembark turn left and it is 200 yards on your left.

    Public Transport Directions

    Getting there by railway:- Scotrail run between Glasgow and Fort William. From here you could hire a car or use a taxi to take you to the Corran Ferry.
    The Lodge is a 2 minute walk from the ferry


    Getting there by aeroplane:- See travel by car. Arrival at either Edinburgh or Glasgow Airport would require a high car.
