INFORMATION ABOUT THE SURROUNDINGS: Leverburgh is a very small fishing village with a pier for the trips to St Kilda and the Shiants & Calmac ferry to The Uists, post office, shop, restaurant/pub and Outdoor Centre.

NEW! Kilda House, It is a beautiful luxurious **** semi detached house, originally built by Lord Leverhulme (1925) at Leverburgh. The house boasts from excellent views over sea loch Obbe, Leverburgh and the remote South Harris hills. You can see the ferry to the Uists coming in, or Kilda cruises leaving for St. Kilda from the master bedroom. Pub and restaurant are just a 5 min. walk away. You are at lots of beautiful beaches either Norhton or Scarista within a 5 min. drive. This big family house has 2 bathrooms (with Jacuzzi ) and sleeps up to a maximum of 6 (adults)-(7 incl children). One masterbedroom (kingsize), one bedroom (double), 1 large bedroom: 3 singles or (one queen size and one single). We are pet friendly, a well behaved dog is welcome on request, we can provide you with a plastic dog bed and/or a cage, bench.
Bart and Alicia are warm hosts who go out of their way for you – or leave you in peace to enjoy fishing, biking, seal-watching, and kayaking. Excellent fishing opportunities (salmon/trout) in the sea loch in front of Kilda house and beyond and other fishing estates on the island or play golf at the mostbeautiful golf course right at the Atlantic at Scarista. Reviews state that most of our guests have enjoyed seeing seals, the golden eagle, otters, eiders, puffins, dolphins or porpoises.
The west coast of Harris is endowed with some of the finest stretches of golden sand in the whole of the archipelago.The Sound of Harris is rich with birds and marine wildlife; gray and common seal are abundant and have their breeding grounds on islands in the Sound. Otters and harbour porpoises can often be spotted. The occasional whale and dolphins pass through the straits among a large variety of migratory birds

Outdoor activities/excursions: Harris Outdoor Adventure opposite the ferry slipway is offering a variety of outdoor pursuits like sea kayaking, seal watching and skippered sailing trips on the Sound of Harris. Further they offer mountain bike hire, children’s bikes and tag-a long trailers. With favourable wind and tides you can also get the grin of land yachting on Scarista beachwww.harrisoutdoor.co.uk.
Kilda cruises and Sea Harris are virtually leaving from your doorstep at the Leverburgh pier for daily excursions to the world famous islands of St. Kilda and the Shiants
Fishing: There are excellent fishing opportunities (salmon, brown- and sea trout) in the sea loch in front of the house and on the river and lochs in the hills beyond. More fishing is available on the two other fishing estates on the island.
Restaurants:The Anchorage pub/restaurant, post office with shop and local supermarket is at a comfortable walk away from the house.
Other places to enjoy local seafood are at the Rodel hotel/pub and restaurant, the Temple Cafe in Northton where Gail makes great coffee's and tea's and lovely home baking, Tarbert Hotel, Harris Inn and Hotel Hebrides and the award winning Scarista House. Croft 36 in Northton will deliver ready made meals from fresh local seafood/produce.
