Stonechats Croft

9 Upper Badcall, Scourie, By Lairg, Sutherland, IV27 4TH

Stonechats Croft is a working croft in the Scottish Highlands. It has been said it has the most wonderful view in the whole of Britain, over the Assynt Mountains range and the Atlantic Ocean with all its islands.

The croft land goes down to the Badcall Bay and the Atlantic Ocean so if you are a sea kayaker or a fisherman its perfect for you. There are resident sea otters for the nature lovers and the most amazing serial cloud formations with wonderful colours ideal for those that love photography.

Stonechats is a working croft next to the Atlantic ocean. If your are a hill walker there are some of the best walks in the UK, we have resident sea otters on the croft and regular visits from the white Tailed Sea Eagle. From the croft Mount Suilven and Quinag are clearly seen. This part of Scotland is said to be the last wilderness in Western Europe.

Next to the croft is the Kylestrone Estate with some stunning walks round loch Glendhu and Glendhu forest. Five minutes drive is the world famous Handa island so if its bird watching you love this place is ideal for you as Handa has Puffins, Razorbills black throated divers and many more birds. For those that like isolation Cape Wrath the most north westerly point or Europe is only 45 minute drive.

Stonechats Croft is open all year so it's ideal if you would like a winter break.

We also offer self catering accommodation in our mobile home which is located on the grounds of the croft. It can sleep up to six people, has two bedrooms, double glazed windows and only 300 yards from the beach, with the most stunning views in the area
