GENERATION – 25 Years of Contemporary Art in Scotland is a ground breaking project celebrating the development of contemporary visual art in Scotland over the last 25 years; a period during which Scotland has developed an international reputation as a distinguished centre for contemporary art, producing a disproportionate number of award-winning contemporary artists.
GENERATION will feature the work of over 100 artists in more than 60 venues the length and breadth of Scotland and all exhibitions are FREE to visit.
Featured artists including four former Turner prize winners (Douglas Gordon, Martin Boyce, Richard Wright and Simon Starling) and seven Turner Prize finalists (David Shrigley, Lucy Skaer, Karla Black, Cathy Wilkes, Nathan Coley, Jim Lambie and Christine Borland).
The exhibitions take place between May and November 2014, with the majority open to visitors over summer 2014.
GENERATION is a key part of the Glasgow 2014 Cultural programme and is a Homecoming Scotland 2014 partner event.
