Towns & Villages

Ballantrae is an attractive coastal village in South Ayrshire situated 13 miles south of Girvan.

The resort town and fishing village sits on one of the most scenic stretches of coast road in this corner of Scotland.

Dominated by the ruins of Ardstinchar Castle, once home to the Kennedys of Bargany, the town also offers great fishing opportunities not only in River Stinchar at the mouth of which it is situated but there are many rivers and lochs around e.g. Dunskey Fishing Loch or Carrick Angling Club to name just few.

Ballantrae has several shops including a small supermarket, and there are a number of places to enjoy a meal or snack.

Galloway Forest Park is within short distance too, affording great walking and cycling opportunities.
