Come and see the world’s oldest surviving music hall – The Britannia Panopticon
Only a few steps from busy Argyle Street. Opened in 1857 as Britannia Music Hall it is famed for the debut of Stan Laurel and early cinema. Now a living museum.
The National Piping Centre serves as the centre for excellence for the Great Highland Bagpipe and its music. The Centre is host to The Museum of Piping, The Highland Library, and The School of Piping, teaching many varieties of pipes and drumming.
An interactive experience as the story of the town is presented from Medieval times until the present day, using objects, pictures, film and people's own words. The museum is based on the elements of Earth, Fire, Air and Water.
