Scotland is the perfect destination for going on holiday with your dog. You can explore ancient forests and shaded glens, take a walk along an award-winning beach and discover fascinating history in castles - while your dog gets lots of exercise in the great Scottish outdoors.

There are lots of things to see and do with your dog in Scotland. Head out for a walk on one of Fife’s beautiful beaches and why not continue along the Fife Coastal Path? Take the path past the stunning Tay road and rail bridges until you reach the ruins of Balmerino Abbey, a 13th century Cistercian monastery.

Walk your dog around the country park while you admire Culzean Castle, a grand 18th century building. Explore the 600 acre grounds with woodland walks and colourful terraced gardens, head for the cliff-top or the beach and look out for the ice houses, Pagoda and caves. After a long walk, enjoy an ice cream at the Swan Pond kiosk where water is also available for your dog.

Dog owners and their dogs can enjoy a variety of Scotland’s countryside, from the beaches to the hills, forests to the fields. When you’re discovering the beauty of Scotland with your dog make sure and follow the Scottish Outdoor Access Code - you can find advice and top tips on access rights and responsibilities.
