GLENAHUIL is a fully modernized farmhouse which sits on a hill with spectacular views of the Islands of Arran, Inchmarnock and Bute. It is surrounded by 50 acres of a working farm with 5 miles of forest at the back, and the sea to the south.
The house is centrally heated and there is an open hearth fire in addition. Whilst not luxurious, it is very comfortable for couples or up to 6 people. Dogs are welcome, but must be kept on a lead on the farm.
There is a lounge, conservatory and dining room downstairs, as well as a well equipped kitchen, bathroom and shower-room, and 3 bedrooms upstairs.
There are plenty of books, a DVD player, CD player, radios and satellite TV, as well as jigsaws and games, so even if the weather is not good, one can enjoy the house. I love watching the constantly changing view of Arran as the clouds come and go.
Six miles away, the villages of Kames/ Tighnabruaich have 3 hotels, and at least 4 options for excellent meals, with bar food as well as gourmet dining. There is an award winning village store and 2 post offices which also stock gifts, cards, candies and useful housekeeping items. There is a sailing school who also teach kayaking and sail-boarding, a 9 hole links golf course and an art gallery too.
