Breanish Tweed is a family business based on the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland. We handweave lightweight tweed in the qualities of shetland wool, lambswool and cashmere.

From our mill on the island we supply cloth to the best bespoke tailors and fashion houses in the world - from Savile Row to 5th Avenue, from Vienna to Tokyo.

Our tweeds are woven on a Yorkshire built Hattersley loom, one of which is over ninety years old.

It takes us four days to weave a bolt of cloth by hand. There are three miles of walking to create the initial warp. Then we 'tie-in' the tweed, which involves tying over eight hundred knots. We can then begin to weave our unique cloth.

Our tweed and products are made in Scotland, combining luxury with provenance and we are the only producers of this type of tweed in the world. As well as cloth, we sell scarves, stoles and throws.

Breanish Tweed were recently honoured to receive the Balvenie Masters of Craft Awards for Textiles.
