Kenneth paints mainly in watercolours, specialising in hills, lochs and ruins. He is also happy to do commissioned works of local scenes and old houses.

Kenneth Allan was born in Peebles, brought up in Innerleithen and now lives in Hawick in the Scottish Borders. Kenneth has lived and worked along with his wife in Northern Pakistan and in North Sumatra, Indonesia. After returning to Scotland he spent two years in the WASPS studio in Selkirk. Although he studied art at school and did a part-time painting and drawing course in Stockton-on-Tees he only started painting in earnest while he was abroad, inspired by memories of home.

Kenneth says, “I just love the scenery of Scotland, especially the Scottish Borders. I like walking in the hills, exploring old ruined tower houses and abandoned shepherd’s cottages. In my paintings I try to capture the atmosphere, memories, and romance of this area which is rich in history and beautiful scenery.”
