The Boathouse Glencaple

The Boathouse sits on the historic quayside of Glencaple, overlooking the River Nith. With a cosy snug in which to relax and a restaurant and deck with stunning views, it is the perfect place to meet up with friends and family and enjoy the delicious food on offer.

The menus range from brunch to lunch and afternoon tea (with evening meals starting in late summer 2018) and include a variety of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options. Allergies are also catered for – most dishes can be tweaked to avoid allergens.

All food is locally sourced and freshly prepared on the day.

The well-stocked shop sells a wide range of grocery items as well as delicious local produce, which is a significant feature of the shop with milk, cheese, vegetables, bread and preserves all sourced locally. The gift shop offers a wonderful selection of homeware, cards and gifts, products from local designers and artists, and traditional children's toys.

Head Chef and Manager Alanna Rogerson and her team take great pride in their commitment to the local community and to sustainability (which can be seen throughout the building from the bamboo children’s plates to reduced plastic packaging in the shop).
