Getting there by ferry:- Fifty miles west of the Outer Hebrides. Only by cruise ships or charter boats from Oban, Leverburgh (Harris), Miavaig (Lewis) and Berneray (North Uist). Access to islands other than Hirta is by prior arrangement with the seasonal warden.
