Take a magical journey around some of Scotland's most romantic isles and peninsulas. Extensive golden beaches, lush rolling hills and pretty villages are complimented by rugged wild moorland, vast forests, rocky crags and river gorges. A guaranteed spectacular view at every turn.
ButeTake the ferry from Wemyss Bay to Rothesay. Following the A844 south to Mount Stuart, visit the magnificent Mount Stuart (1). Take in the fantastic views of the coastline on the A844, before turning right on the B878 back to Rothesay and the Isle of Bute Discovery Centre and Rothesay Castle (2).
KintyreFollow the A886 north to catch the ferry to Colintraive. Take the A886 along the shores of Loch Riddon then the A8003, through Tighnabruiach. Cross the peninsula to Portavadie and take the ferry to Tarbert. Take the A83 south, enjoying views of the island of Gigha. Arrive at Glenbarr and visit Glenbarr Abbey (3). Rejoin the A83 south to Campbeltown and visit the Heritage Centre and Springbank Distillery (4). Take the B842 north to Saddell, where you can visit Saddell Abbey and Castle (5). Keep on the B842 to Claonaig bay and take the ferry crossing to Lochranza on the Isle of Arran.
ArranLeaving the ferry turn left and head straight for the Isle of Arran Distillery (6), which sits in the shadow of the north Arran mountains. Double back, then continue south past Machrie Moor (7) and its standing stones to the village of Blackwaterfoot. Take the B880 across the island to Brodick (8) where you can find Brodick Castle, Arran Heritage Museum, Arran Aromatics and Island Cheese Co.
BrodickFrom Brodick, take the ferry back to Ardrossan on the mainland.
