Christopher Brookmyre

Glasgow-born Brookmyre (1968-) worked as a journalist in Edinburgh, London and Los Angeles before his first novel, Quite Ugly One Morning was published in 1996 to wide critical and popular acclaim...
He followed this with a succession of best selling crime novels which are laced with equal measures of very black humour, arch Scottish cynicism, brilliant observations and sharp satire. Despite being uncompromisingly Glaswegian, Brookmyre's writing has an appeal far beyond Scotland and has garnered a number of awards including the First Blood Award (for the best first crime novel) and the Sherlock Award for the Best Comic Detective.
