Ben Nevis
Established in 1825, Ben Nevis Distillery is located in the shadow of Britain's the highest mountain, just outside Fort William.
Bowmore
One of the most popular contemporary whisky brands, Bowmore Distillery has been producing its own floor-malted barley on the shores of Loch Indaal on the island of Islay since 1779. This ensures the unique character of Bowmore Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky, a subtle, smoky, peaty malt.
Bruichladdich
Pronounced 'Brook-laddie', which means 'raised beach' in Gaelic, Bruichladdich Distillery is also located on Loch Indaal on Islay. The same equipment is used today as back in 1881 when the distillery first went into production, with bottling on a small scale, often with limited availability.
Bunnahabhain
Despite being located on Islay, Bunnahabain is very different from the traditonal smoky malts of the island, thanks to the use of its lightly peated malted barley and local spring water.
Caol Ila
Pronounced 'cull-eela', this Islay distillery boasts six copper stills. Its setting is among the best in the whisky world, with a view across to Sound of Jura to the Paps of Jura hills.
Isle of Arran
The Isle of Arran Whisky Distillery is located at Lochranza on the island of Arran in the Firth of Clyde, where the geography of the Highlands and the Lowlands meet.
Isle of Jura
The dramatic Inner Hebridean island of Jura boasts just one distillery, which opened in 1810.
Kilchoman
Kilchoman was the first distillery to be built on Islay for 124 years. It is a great example of traditional farm-scale whisky production.
Lagavulin
With its rich, peaty character, some say that Lagavulin is the definitive Islay whisky. The distillery is located near Port Ellen on this famous whisky island.
Laphroaig
One of the most famous brands in whisky, Laphroaig is a typically smoky Islay whisky. The distillery is located at the town of Port Ellen at the south of the island.
Mitchell's Glengyle
Mitchell's Glengyle distillery produces Kilkerran, the newest Single Malt from the distinctive whisky producing area of Campbletown on the Kintyre peninsula.
Oban
Oban Distillery is found in the busy west coast port, popular with tourists. Its rich, sweet 14 year-old malt whisky reflects the location of the distillery, revealing a hint of sea salt and smoky peatiness.
Springbank
Founded in 1828 and still going strong today in Campbeltown, Kintyre, Springbank is Scoltand's oldest family-run distillery.
Talisker
Talisker is one of the most well-known and well-loved single malt whiskies. It is the only distillery on the Isle of Skye, with a stunning setting backdropped by the Cuillin mountains. The character of the malt is sweet and full-bodied.
Tobermory
Tobermory Distillery is situated on pretty Tobermory harbour on the north coast of the spectacular island of Mull. The island's ony distillery, it produces the Tobermory 10 year-old malt whisky with unpeated malted barley.
