Scots Trad Music Awards 27-29 November

Scots Trad Music Awards
Scots Trad Music Awards is an amazing weekend of music in Dumfries. The weekend of celebrations starts with a spectacular ceilidh dance, followed by The Scots Trad Music Awards gala Award Ceremony and, new for 2009, a Sunday concert featuring the musicians of Scotland’s past.

The aim of these Awards is to highlight Scotland's wonderful traditional music in all its forms and to create a high profile opportunity which will bring the music and music industry into the spotlight of media & public attention. Categories include Album of the year, Live Act of the Year, best venue, and two new awards Trad Music in the Media and Music Tutor of the Year. Nominations will be shortlisted by a panel of experts from record labels to event organisers and other industry representatives. From November 2nd, the vote goes back to the public who have the final say on who will sweep up at this year’s award ceremony.
