Ferries leave Aberdeen for Lerwick in Shetland and Stromness in Orkney, with regular crossings from Jamieson's Quay in the harbour. Nightly sailings go from Aberdeen to Lerwick - with four of these sailings going via Orkney's capital, Kirkwall.
Getting to and from the ferry port:
By rail
Aberdeen train station is located less than one mile from the ferry terminal. There are various services to Inverness, Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow and beyond, as well as local services.
By coach
Aberdeen bus station is also close to the ferry port. Coach services connect Aberdeen with Inverness, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Perth and Dundee. There are also local bus services.
By car
Aberdeen has good road links with the rest of the country. The A90 is the main route down the east coast to Dundee and Perth, for travel on to Glasgow, Edinburgh and England. The A96 heads up to Inverness, while the A93 forges its way into the mountains to Braemar and Royal Deeside. There is a NCP car park in Ship Row, a short distance from the terminal.
