1 Goodall's Place is a 19th century stone-built cottage for two, quietly tucked away in Haddington's conservation area near the ancient Nungate Bridge over the River Tyne.
The spacious accommodation is all on the ground floor and benefits from a small sheltered private garden at the rear. It is equipped and maintained to a high standard and is walking distance to the shops and restaurants of the town centre. The cottage is perfectly situated for enjoying the beautiful countryside, golf-courses and beaches of East Lothian, while the attractions of Edinburgh can be reached in 30 minutes by car. Flexible start dates, minimum stay three nights, bed linen and full gas central heating included. East Lothian, with its sunny climate, many golf courses and miles of unspoilt coastline, is a wonderful choice for a holiday or short break at any time of the year. The county town of Haddington is well-served with shops and restaurants, and the area abounds with places of interest including castles and historic houses, the Scottish Seabird Centre at North Berwick and the Museum of Flight and Concorde Experience at East Fortune.
Accommodation
At the front of the cottage, there is a little gravel garden bordered by a hedge and traditional iron railings and gate.
The front door opens into a little hall, and then to the spacious sitting room which has solid oak flooring and a welcoming modern gas fire. The room has crisp white paintwork and is flooded with light from sash and case windows on two sides. There is chocolate brown leather easy seating, a dining table and two chairs and a 32" TV with DVD and HiFi.
The bedroom is carpeted and has a double bed, dressing table, chest of drawers and built-in wardrobes with masses of hanging and drawer space (plus storage for suitcases). The bed will, of course, be made up for your arrival with duvet, pillows and crisp cotton bed-linen.
The dining-kitchen is light and spacious. There is a beech breakfast bar for casual dining, a built in electric oven and hob, dishwasher, freezer, fridge and microwave, along with good quality china and cooking utensils. A glass door leads out into the little private gravel garden which catches the sun from mid-day onwards and where you will find a bench and table and chairs for two.
The shower room has a marble floor, shaver socket and heated towel rail. Towels and toiletries are provided.
To welcome you, we leave tea, coffee and Scottish shortbread, and milk in the fridge.
Length of stay and start dates are flexible, short break bookings are welcome. The minimum stay is three nights, and prices include bed linen, towels and full gas central heating. Entry is after 4pm on the day of arrival, and check out is before 10am on the day of departure.
