Located on the north west coast of Lewis, 17miles outside the main town of Stornoway. The accomodation is all in one level consisting of 1 double bedroom, 1 twin room and 1 single room, spacious and bright living room, fitted kitchen and bathroom.
10 Melbost is a bright and comfortable recently refurbished house situated on the scenic west coast of Lewis. The house consists of double, twin and single bedrooms, a living room, kitchen and bathroom. The well-equipped and modern kitchen includes a microwave, washing machine, fridge freezer and double oven. Bed linen and towels are provided The house has electric heating as well as a wood burning stove in the living room helping to create a cosy and welcoming atmosphere.
The main town of Stornoway is situated 17 miles from Melbost and is the home of many restaurants, shops, an arts centre, sports centre, golf course, tennis courts and the wonderful castle grounds. There is a regular bus service all over the island.
The township of Ness is a 10 minute drive north of Melbost and accommodates sports facilities including a popular 2 lane bowling alley. Local amenities within walking distance include Borve House Hotel and restaurant, a shop and petrol station , Post Office and Pottery. The local area is convenient for many recreational pursuits including coastal walks and bird watching. Salmon fishing is available in Barvas Lodge, 7 miles south of Melbost as is sea fishing from the Harbour in the Port of Ness. The beaches of the west side provide good surfing conditions for any keen surfer and surfing gear can be rented in Barvas itself.
The house is in close proximity to many working crofts which show traditional island life and the local community centre hosts occasional musical events and ceilidhs providing much hoots and merriment! .
Use of a large garage is available to store bikes, kayaks , surf boards etc.
