45 Academy Street

Self Catering

45 Academy Street, Castle Douglas, Dumfries & Galloway, DG7 1EE

This friendly comfortable house, centrally situated in the region's Food Town of Castle Douglas, is an ideal self-catering base to explore Dumfries & Galloway for families and adults alike.

The property is well located in the heart of Castle Douglas and has been in the current owner's family for over five decades.  Sleeping up to seven guests, it has ample space for a family yet does not feel too big for a couple. The owners themselves have spent many great holidays here.   They especially enjoy being within such easy reach of Galloway's beaches (good fun for the children) and all the small 'perfectly formed' places of interest in the area.  What could be more special than walking from the house through the countryside to ancient Threave Castle and making the crossing in the little boat?   Or enjoying Threave's lovely gardens?

The house boasts a fantastic central location within a short walking distance from the town's impressive line-up of privately owned shops. There's plenty of choice for eating in or out whether it's stocking up on local produce from the town's quality retailers or treating yourself in one of Galloway's restaurants.

Ideally situated for walking, cycling and touring with plenty of choice for anglers and wildlife enthusiasts, 45 Academy Street is also within easy reach of good golf courses, the romantic seascapes over the Mull of Galloway, and miles of cycle routes and magnificent walks in the Mabie, Ae and Dalbeattie forests or in the wild Galloway hills.
