It is also an ideal location and base, from which to explore Orkney in general, but is particularly well situated for visiting the famous Skara Brae, Ring Of Brogar, Standing Stones and other Archeological Sites in the West Mainland.

The main Passenger and Car Ferry to Orkney berths in Stromness, and a 5 minute walk along the main street takes you to the flat. (Collection for foot passengers & luggage by arrangement.)

We offer all our guests 1 FREE Day's Cycle Hire during your stay, so this is a great opportunity to cycle aound the nearest sites of interest, and "mix & match" with the car for the more distant exploring.
The Neolithic Centre of Orkney is recognised as a World Heritage Site and is all within easy cycling distance from Stromness.
Alternatively take a day trip to the unique island of Hoy, which is 25 minutes away on the small passenger ferry based in Stromness. Cycle to the beautiful Rackwick Bay , walk to and look down on the stunning rock stack which is the Old Man of Hoy (approx 3hours return from Rackwick), return to your relaxing flat in the early evening, having experienced a day with a difference, satisfied you have achieved your exercise but also contributed to the GREEN vacation!
