8 Havannah Court, Kelso

Overview

With the largest town market square in Scotland, four cobbled streets converge on the cobbled town square with it's elegant Georgian and Victorian buildings.

This is Kelso, a thriving Scottish town with an extensive history dating back to 1128. The unique town centre boasts an array of small independent businesses and traditional family run shops.

Kelso stands on the banks of the River Tweed with its world famous salmon fishing and is an ideal location for exploring the Borders and North Northumberland.

Local attractions include Floors Castle inhabited by the Duke of Roxburghe which is the largest family owned house in Scotland, the ruined Kelso Abbey dating back to 1128, the historic Rennie Bridge as well as an array of stunning Georgian and Victorian architecture.

Kelso also has a huge array of sport and recreation including salmon fishing, golf, cycle and walking routes and also the horse racing track known as 'Britain's Friendliest Racecourse'. There are also a wide range of small independant shops and boutiques. Pubs and good restaurants are also a short walk home!

So whether you want a day away, a relaxing break or a fun packed holiday, Kelso is the Scottish destination for you.

Havannah Court is a delightful and well presented two bedroomed apartment quietly set back off The Square, Kelso in this attractive courtyard development, benefitting from the sheltering grounds and high walled garden next to a private hotel.
The Four Abbeys Cycle trail goes through Kelso, and there is excellent walking in the area - both marked routes and less explored paths. There are some superb castles and country houses in the area - Floors Castle, Abbotsford House (home of Sir Walter Scott), Mellerstain and Traquair House are some of the finest in Scotland. Kelso's Racecourse is a great day out if you like racing and the beaches of the Berwickshire and Northumberland coasts are within easy driving distance. Edinburgh is only an hour away and Hadrian's Wall is an hour and a half's drive. There is so much to see and do in the area !
Accommodation
Lounge with TV and DVD player, bedroom 1 (zip up super kingsize or twin single beds ), bedroom 2 (double), fully equipped kitchen, bathroom (shower only). Washing machine/dryer. Linen provided. Cot/high chair available
Nestling just off the Town Square, the apartment is accessed via a shared main door leading to a private courtyard which is only accessible to residents.
No 8 overlooks the courtyard and although is situated close to the town centre, overlooks the rear of the building and hears little noise. Come to Havannah Court and experience a tranquil retreat with all amenities on your doorstep.
