Achaneich Properties

Overview

Both letting units are found in the grounds of "Achaneich", which, in gaelic means "The place of small horses", a historic highland cottage with origins dating back to the 1600's. The Stable building is believed to have been occupied by a troop of General Wades' soldiers during the Jacobite uprisings in the 18th century.

Situated on the A86 between Spean Bridge and Roy Bridge, we are ideally placed for touring the Highlands, walking in the hills, climbing, fishing and exploring the natural beauties of Lochaber and the Western Highlands. Aviemore, Inverness, Skye and Oban are all less than two hours by road. Spean Bridge, a mile down the road has shops, restaurants, hotels, railway station and a golf course whilst Roy Bridge also has a shop, hotels and restaurants. Fort William is just 12 miles south with a large selection of shops, garages, hotels, restaurants and several visitor attractions to suit all ages.

Achaneich Chalet was built in 1989 and then completely refurbished in 1999. It is extremely well equipped and sleeps 4 people in two bedrooms. The large living area comes with TV, video and Hi-Fi with a selection of games for those evenings in. The kitchen is all electric with oven, hob, microwave cooker, fridge and a washer/drier.

Achaneich Stable Cottage was been converted in 1992 to form a spacious cottage for two people. It has a large living room with a vaulted pine roof and a feature stone wall, which features two of the original arrow slit windows. The kitchen area is to one side of the living area with a breakfast bar separating the food preparation area from the dining area. The kitchen is all electric with oven, hob, washer/drier, microwave and fridge.

All bed linen is provided in both units, towels can be supplied for a small charge.

Wireless internet access is available.
