Airds farm offers a choice of two self-catering houses. Airdside, sleeping 5 is a 3 star centrally heated property attached to the main farmhouse.
Airds Farm
The quiet location of Airds farm near to loch Ken is half a mile from the nearest road, yet only 4 miles from Castle Douglas and 20 miles from Dumfries and Kirkcudbright. Boating and fishing on the loch are possible from the marina at Crossmichael and the sailing centre is a few minutes drive away. On the farm, short walks can be taken in the nearby Airds Glen where wildlife abounds. Red kites and buzzards are frequently seen along with deer, rabbits and other wild creatures. An abundance of wild flowers delights the eye throughout the spring and summer seasons. Airds farm has two self-catering units, Airdside & Airdsmill which will be of interest to groups of friends and families with relatives of all ages.
Airdside
With capacity for up to five persons Airdside is an ideal holiday home for all types of people, young and old. Centrally heated by oil, the cottage offers comfortable accommodation. One double bedroom, one twin bedroom and a single bedroom are provide. The lounge/dining room has a 28" widescreen TV and DVD . The fitted kitchen includes a microwave fridge and washing machine. Bathroom, which isn on the ground floor, has separate shower and bath. Costs for power are included, but a charge on usage is made for heating oil. Bed linen and towels are included in the price. Special prices are offered for short breaks and although the normal start day is Saturday, flexibility to suit your needs commensurate with availability can be accommodated. Airdsmill
With capacity for up to eight persons Airdsmill is an ideal holiday home for all types of people, young and old. Modern decor with subdued lighting makes a delightful and comfortable environment for your holiday. Wheelchair access is provided to all facilities except for one bedroom which is on the 1st floor and the property has facilities for disabled guests. Two double bedrooms are provided, one having en-suite shower facilities. Two twin bedrooms share a bathroom with shower facility and a spacious shower/wet room. Ample seating for relaxing in the lounge or watching the 32" widescreen TV is provided. Dining at our classy extending glass-topped table is a pleasure in itself. A utility room fitted with washing machine and worktop/sink provides clothes-washing facilities. The modern fully-fitted kitchen adjacent to the dining area includes a range cooker with 5 burner ceramic hob and 3 ovens. A dishwasher and microwave are also supplied. All costs for power, bed linen and towels are included in the price except for logs, should it be wished to use the log stove to give a focal point during winter evenings.
