Locally sourced breakfast ingredients include free range eggs and award winning sausages from Denholm and St. Boswells black pudding. Allerton House dates back to the mid 1800's when it was built for a wealthy Jedburgh corn merchant. The house still retains an imposing character and stands in a well maintained traditional garden with large mature trees providing a screen from the Oxnam road. Just a few hundred metres up the road from the A68, the house is within walking distance of the historic sites, restaurants, coffee shops and bars of the town centre.

The six en suite rooms are all named after local sites of historic interest:

Abbey is situated on the ground floor and suitable for disabled guests or those who cannot manage the long staircase to the first floor rooms and also has the benefit of a sofa bed to accommodate a third person.

Capon, a family room with twin beds and a separate bunk bed room, is also conveniently situated on the ground floor.

Queen Mary, Castle and Ferniehurst are all superior double bedded rooms on the first floor with views of the gardens and Jed is a single bedded room with walk in door-less shower.

Facilities include free wi-fi, digital TV, hairdryer, ipod dock, iron and board, fridge and free use of the nearby leisure centre with swimming pool and steam room. Transfers can be arranged for walkers and there is secure off road parking for cars and motorcycles.

Breakfast is the 'speciality of the house' with carefully selected locally sourced ingredients ensuring you a flavour of the Borders to set you up for a day of exploration, travel, walking or business.
