    Welcome to The Allison House, Guest House Edinburgh, an elegant family run town house property owned and managed for the last 20 years by David and Anne-Marie Hinnrichs.

    Our superb location allows guests easy access to Edinburgh Castle, Royal Mile, Holyrood Palace, The Scottish Parliament and many other famous visitor attractions Edinburgh has to offer.

    Public transport to and from the guest house is frequent and allows to explore the city easily.

    All our 11  tastefully furnished bedrooms offer, en-suite facilities with private shower, Free internet access WI-FI, LCD televisions with DVD player, Radio, Hair dryer, hospitality trays, ironing facilities and complimentary whisky and sherry on arrival.

    Rates are inclusive of Room and Full Breakfast (B&B) with a choice of cooked Scottish breakfast, or for those that prefer something a bit lighter we're certain you will find our extensive Continental buffet to your liking.

    • Shop within 2 Miles / Mobile Shop In the area there are a number of shops, ranging from a small newspaper shop almost accross the road to a small shopping mall with a large supermarket in less than a mile - however the City Centre can be easily reached for all other stores.

    Public Transport Directions

    From the nearest information centre:- From tourist information centre at Waverley shopping centre, cross to bus stop on North Bridge. Bus numbers 3,7,8, 29, 29A, 31, 37 all pass front door. Bus stop is 20 yards past hotel.

    Getting there by railway:- From Waverley Station, hotel situated 1.25 miles due south. Taxi from station costs approx. £5. Buses from North Bridge opposite Balmoral Hotel cost 80p.

    Getting there by aeroplane:- From Edinburgh Airport follow signs for city centre. Go onto city bypass south and exit at Straiton Junction. Follow signs for city centre. Hotel situated 2.5 miles from junction exit on main road A701.

    Getting there by ferry:- From Leith Docks follow signs for city centre, follow road up Leith Walk. Continue to follow signs for city centre until you reach Princes St. Turn up North Bridge and head straight up the road for approx one mile. Hotel on left-hand side.
