Allt Ruadh

Self Catering

Smirisary, Glenuig, By Lochailort, Inverness-shire, PH38 4NG

Luxury Self-Catering holiday cottage situated in a very peaceful location near the small village of Glenuig, which lies midway between Fort William (the Outdoor Capital of the UK), the Sound of Arisaig and the Ardnamurchan Peninsula on the West Coast of Scotland ~ making it is an ideal base to explore this beautiful area which has so much to offer.

Allt Ruadh, formerly the family croft house, has been completely renovated and is now furnished to a very high standard, with all modern facilities creating a relaxing environment for your holiday. The property provides accommodation for four persons, comprising two bedrooms (one King Size, one Twin bedded), bathroom with bath and separate shower cubicle, very well equipped kitchen/diner, sitting room with Multifuel Stove, Satellite Television, WIFI Broadband, DVD, CD player with radio and I-pod dock. The cottage has electric central heating, with underfloor heating in the kitchen, bathroom and sun room, storage heater in the sitting room and room heaters in both bedrooms.

A recent addition ~ the Sun Room is a very relaxing area where you can chill out and enjoy the panoramic views towards Cruach na Bairness, look out over the garden and watch the local wildlife or just enjoy a quiet read with a glass of wine.

The cottage is set in its own garden, with no immediate neighbours, and is accessed via a private road with parking within 20yds of the front door. Outdoor seating and barbecue provided.

Satellite Television & WI-FI Broadband and mobile phone signal booster provides communication with the outside world ~ though you may wish to forego this intrusion and just retreat for the week and enjoy the peace and quiet.

There are numerous walks from the front door of the cottage ~ visit Samalaman Beach, climb up to enjoy Loch Na Bairness (home to the Great Northern Diver) or enjoy a 30 minute walk via the roadless crofting township of Smirisary to the remote White Sands beach which if you are fortunate will be able to enjoy on your own, or follow the stream (after which the cottage gets its name ~ Allt Ruadh is the Gaelic for Brown Burn) down to the shore and stroll round the rocky shore to investigate the rock pools.

    Welcome tray on arrival.

Linen, towels, all fuel and complimentary toiletries included.

Short lets available in low season.
