    Our farmhouse dates from 1850 and has been renovated to provide all modern conveniences, yet it retains its traditional charm.  Furnished with antiques and an abundance of luxury linens, soft towels and robes, throws, and cushions, Ampherlaw is a luxury retreat from the stresses and strains of daily life.

    We offer Bed & Breakfast and a Romantic Weekend Package.

    We are located in rural South Lanarkshire and are surrounded by beautiful countryside, yet we are only 30 minutes from Edinburgh and 40 minutes from Glasgow.

    Travel along A70. Take last exit on right before Carnwath (signposted for Auchengray and Woolfords). Continue along this road for 1½ miles. Turn first left at Falla along single track road. Continue towards end of road. Ampherlaw Farmhouse sits on the right hand side.

    From Carnwath
    Travel along Main Street towards Edinburgh. At roundabout turn left along A70 for Edinburgh. Continue for 1½ miles. Turn left (signposted for Auchengray and Woolfords). Continue along this road for 1½ miles. Turn first left at Falla along single track road. Continue for ¼ mile towards end of road. Ampherlaw Farmhouse sits on the right hand side.

    From the nearest information centre:- Travel along A706 Hope Street.
    Travel 3.5 miles at roundabout take 3rd exit onto A721.
    Bear left onto A70 Edinburgh Road.
    Through Carnwath Main Street.
    At roundabout turn left onto A70 Edinburgh Road.
    Travel for 1½ miles. Take left junction (signposted for Auchengray and Woolfords).
    Travel for 1½ miles. Take left junction at Falla. We are at end of road.

    Getting there by railway:- From Edinburgh Railway Stations:
    Head west on A70 signposted Lanark.
    Follow A70 until signpost 'Auchengray 4 miles' right-hand turn (25 mins).
    Travel 1500 mts and take left junction at Falla. We are at end of road.


    From Glasgow Railway Stations:
    Head east on the M8 signposted Edinburgh.
    Take junction 3 for Livingston heading for the A71 West Calder.
    Travel along the A71 through West Calder. Around 600 mts take left fork.
    Travel along A704 for 2000 mts and take left junction signpost Auchengray.
    Travel 7 miles to Auchengray. 600mts past Auchengray take left fork.
    Travel 2 miles and turn right at Falla. We are at end of road.

    Getting there by aeroplane:- From Edinburgh Airport:
    Head west on M8 signposted Glasgow.
    Take junction 3 for Livingston heading for the A71 West Calder.
    Travel along the A71 through West Calder. Around 600 mts take left fork.
    Travel along A704 for 2000 mts and take left junction signpost Auchengray
    Travel 7 miles to Auchengray. 600mts past Auchengray take left fork.
    Travel 2 miles and turn right at Falla. We are at end of road.

    From Glasgow Airport:
    Head east on the M8 signposted Edinburgh.
    Take junction 3 for Livingston heading for the A71 West Calder.
