    An Airigh, translated in Gaelic means shieling or hill pasture in Summer. This luxury self catering cottage offers a central location and is situated within 1 mile from the centre of Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis. The cottage can accommodate comfortably up to 4 persons. A Visit Scotland quality assurance inspection has been applied for in order to gain a Star Rating as this is the first year the property is offered to the tourism industry.  Stornoway is a bustling town with a range of local shops and restaurants. Lews Castle overlooks a busy fishing harbour.  An Lantair (Arts Centre) hosts performing arts and also incorporates a cinema and restaurant.

    Accommodation comprises of Kitchen/Dining area, living room, bathroom, double bedroom and twin bedroom. Heating is provided by electric storage heaters throughout the property. Wooden flooring is fitted in the kitchen, hallway and living room. The kitchen is fully equipped with fitted units. We provide a ceramic hob and fan assisted oven/grill, microwave oven, washer/dryer and fridge/freezer unit. The living room is tastefully furnished to a very high standard. Comfortable leather seating is provided along with a dining area for formal use. A large wall mounted Flatscreen TV, Hi-Fi Unit with CD player and a good library of books, DVD’s and magazines are provided in the bookcase for your enjoyment. The property has High Speed Wireless (Wi-Fi) Internet Access along with telephone handsets throughout. The bathroom is fully fitted with bath and shower. Both Double and Twin Bedrooms are fitted with orthopaedic beds and have fitted storage and dressing tables. The property has a small mature garden at the front and the larger back garden comes complete with table and chairs, gas BBQ so you can enjoy the outdoor ambience during the delightful Summer evenings. A locked shed is provided for storing equipment.

    Getting There

    From Stornoway Airport

    Follow exit road from airport until you arrive at the A855. Take a right turn and follow the Stornoway signpost. Turn right when you get to Seaforth Road junction and follow on until you arrive at Constable Road where you turn right.  When you arrive at the Ivorhill turn-off (directly after an ambulance station), turn left then first right again. The cottage is the third on the right.

    If travelling from Stornoway ferry terminal  turn left and follow Shell Street until the first roundabout. At the first roundabout take a right turn along James Street (signposted to airport) and pass directly through the second roundabout then on to Sandwick Road - you will pass a fuel station on your right. Follow along Sandwick Road and take the first left then carry on until you arrive at the Constable Road junction where you turn right.  When you arrive at the Ivorhill turn-off (directly after an ambulance station) turn left then first right. The cottage is the third property on the right.

    Travelling from ferry terminal in Tarbert or Leverburgh in Harris follow the A859 to Stornoway. On reaching Stornoway follow on directly through the first roundabout for approximately 1 mile. Follow Perceval Road / Anderson Road and Constable Road. When you arrive at the Ivorhill turnoff (directly after an ambulance station) turn left then first right. The cottage is the third property on the right.
