Ardbrae House Bed And Breakfast

Overview

  1. Both our rooms (double, twin) are on the ground floor with en suite bathrooms. We have a no smoking policy throughout.
  2. We are located close to Edinburgh Airport, the M8 and M9, the city bypass, the Forth Road Bridge and Rosyth Ferry. We have off-road parking if you prefer to leave your car and can take a short bus or taxi ride into Edinburgh's city centre. All our rooms in our 1950's bungalow are provided with free wi-fi, iPod/Alarm/Radio clocks, tea & coffee making facilities, colour television, hairdryer and a guest book with local information.  For that extra special celebration, champagne and floral arrangements can be provided upon request (extra charge).
  3. Breakfast is served in the sun room overlooking an enclosed, private rear garden. You have a choice of a substantial continental breakfast (cereals, muesli, fruit, yogurts, fruit juice, toast and tea/coffee), creamy porridge or a traditional Scottish breakfast if desired (all, or a combination of, eggs any way you like, bacon, sausage, black pudding, tomato and potato scone). We can also cater for vegetarian tastes.
  4. Families and children of all ages are very welcome. We can provide a travel cot (but not linen) and a high chair on request. The twin room also has space for a small bed to be added, suitable for children.
  5. The proprietor, Julia Newell, is a former Edinburgh tour guide and will be happy to advise on what to see and do. There is a leisure centre with swimming pool within a 5 minute walk. The bus stops are situated almost outside the bed & breakfast and run every 10 minutes, all day and all night. Local attractions (about 10 minute bus ride) include Edinburgh Zoo and Murrayfield Stadium, whereas the famous Edinburgh Castle, Royal Holyrood Palace, Scottish Parliament, Botanic Gardens and many more attractions are about a 20 minute bus ride away.
  6. The local area is called Corstorphine and it has a number of very good bars and restaurants as well as local shops, banks and other facilities. If you wish to visit the rest of Scotland, we can arrange tours to places such as Glasgow, Loch Lomond National Park, the Borders, Loch Ness, Aberdeen and the Western Isles, to name a few.
