Ardshiel Hotel was built in 1877 for the Greenlees family. It has an informal and truly relaxed atmosphere with a wealth of period features.

The building has been fully and sympathetically modernised all bedrooms are en-suite and have satellite TV, some with views of Campbeltown Loch.

Enjoying a quiet location two minutes walk from the town centre, we have free private parking and a beautiful beer garden at the rear of the property. Machrihanish Golf Course is a short drive away where guests can enjoy discounted green fees.

Our restaurant uses local produce with the menu changing daily to reflect availability. We have a fine selection of wines, real ales and a malt whisky bar with over 350 malts to choose from, a warm friendly welcome awaits you.

Road Directions

Approximately three hours drive from Glasgow. The most direct route is by the A82 to Tarbet on Loch lomond, then the A83 via Inveraray and Lochgilphead.

Public Transport Directions

From the nearest information centre:- From Campletown Tourist Centre, turn left along the prom at the mini roundabout turn right, then second left on the right you will see the Ardshiel Hotel.

Getting there by railway:- No Service available.

Getting there by aeroplane:- Flybe, franchise partner, Loganair operates flights from Glasgow to Campbeltown. This short flight takes less than 40 minutes and arrives into Machrihanish Airport, which is approximately 5 minutes from Campbeltown.

Getting there by ferry:- From Ardrossan, Ayrshire a ferry links with Brodick, Arran approximately (50 minutes). A short drive is required to Lochranza where the seasonal ferry approximately (3o minutes) runs to Clonaig on the Kintyre peninsula. The ferry from Arran must be booked in advance. There are also ferry links from Gourock to Dunoon and Portavadie to Tarbert.
