Situated in the picturesque fishing village of Avoch on the Black Isle, Ardvreckan, from its elevated position, has stunning views over the inner Moray Firth.
Fifteen minutes from Inverness, Avoch is an ideal place to break your journey before travelling to the far north or to the west (Ullapool is 50 minutes drive)
From the harbour in the village designed by Thomas Telford, enjoy an informative and memorable trip to see the famous dolphins. The village is also the burial place of Sir Alexander MacKenzie who discovered the MacKenzie River in Canada. There are lovely walks starting from the village, eg. you could spot the ospreys around Munlochy Nay. Enjoy golf at the excellent course at neighbouring Fortrose and Rosemarkie or continue along the coast to Cromarty, birthplace of Hugh Miller.
