Arnott's House

Overview

The house is named after the redoubtable butler of the Eriska main house and is located on the secluded east side of the Island and enjoys wonderful views looking East over Loch Creran towards Ben Cruachan.

Arnott's House is a self contained 3-bedroom property accommodating up to 6 guests in total. Each bedroom has ensuite facilities and can be configured in double or twin beds. All bathrooms have both separate bath and showers. Downstairs a modern kitchen is equipped with all that one would expect from a 5 star self catering facility. The sitting/dining area has dual aspect views and a gas fire and the conservatory catches all the light from the east and offers a wonderful bright and airy space overlooking the garden.
Arnott's House is a new addition to Eriska in 2011. Arnott's House was built in the mid 1850s and is a typical Scottish farmhouse of its era, built of solid stonework and configured over 2 floors. It is named after the redoubtable butler of the house who worked for the Clark Hutchisons for the first few decades at the start of last century. It is located on the east side of the Island 50m above Loch Creran and enjoys wonderful views looking East towards Ben Cruachan. After crossing the bridge to the island the property is reached by a single tracked unpaved road and has ample car parking.

Arnott's House has undergone a major refurbishment to create a self contained 3-bedroom property accommodating up to 6 guests in total. All bathrooms have both separate bath and showers and the house is both double glazed and centrally heated throughout. Downstairs a modern kitchen is equipped with all that one would expect from a 5 star self catering facility. The sitting/dining area has dual aspect views and a gas fire and the conservatory catches all the light from the east and offers a wonderful bright and airy space overlooking the garden.

Outside there is a covered boot room and drying area and adjacent to the conservatory lies the Jacuzzi hot tub. Arnott's House makes the most of its location at the heart of the 300 acre private island and there is a wealth of wildlife all around. Arnott's House lies on the Island of Eriska which is dominated by the 5 star hotel and residency of the house offers access to the facilities of the hotel which is about ¼ mile from the house. The Stables indoor facilities include a 17m ozone pool with sauna and steam room, an Espa spa, gymnasium and indoor tennis court. The Stables is open to those staying at Arnott's House from 10am-5pm and whilst children under 1are most welcome they should be accompanied by an adult.

The hotel also has a 9 hole golf course, clay pigeon shooting facility and mountain bikes for hire and other activities in the area can be organised through the reception. The main house has an acclaimed 3 AA rosette restaurant and reservations are accepted through the hotel for dinner in the evenings. Eriska is located in the heart of the West Highlands and is surrounded by wonderful hill walking and nature trails. To the south lies the ferry port of Oban, to the west the islands of Mull and Iona and the Arnamurchan peninsular and to the North, Glen Coe, Fort William and Loch Ness.

Arnott's House is let on a weekly basis on Saturdays with check in any time after 3.00pm and check out before 11am on day of departure. It is supplied with full linen and towels and is serviced once during your stay. All heating and lighting is included along with access to the stables leisure facilities although there is a charge for hire of equipment, use of the golf course and indoor sports hall.

 

On arrival the house can be supplied with a simple welcome hamper including sufficient milk, sugar, tea and coffee for your first evening. However, if you would like a more substantial delivery then please ask prior to arrival and if you require any deliveries from the hotel’s suppliers during your stay then we would be delighted to arrange them. The house may be serviced more frequently if required and other facilities such as babysitting and chefs can also be arranged in advance of your arrival.
