    Luxurious 4 star Visit Scotland accredited apartments on the ground and first floor of a comforatble, warm building. 

    We now offer 2 very beautiful apartments in an ideal location. Within a modern luxury block, the apartments overlook a beautiful courtyard. - A luxury, peaceful oasis, just off the hustle and bustle of the Royal Mile. - 

    The apartments are situated are only 2 minutes walk from the beautiful and historic Royal Mile, 7 minutes walk from the train station.

    On-site garage parking and wi-fi is provided.

    Our prices are per apartment, not per person. Each apartment will accommodate 4 in luxury, or up to 5 plus a baby in comfort.  (The fifth person bed provision is a folding bed - genrally this will only be comfortable for a child or a small adult).  The basic price is for 4 people in the standard configuration of twin beds in one room and a king sized bed in the other.  We can split the large bed into 2 narow singles or fix the twin beds together for a small extra charge.

    There is fully level, disabled access to the ground floor apartment, which is probably suitable for disabled access - please do ask for details.  The front door to the street is also level and there is a single yellow line there, so a disabled person's car permit could be used to leave the car there.

    We can also provide cots, linen and high chairs.

    Our best rates are for stays of one week or more. We have preferred minimum stay of 3 nights - we can and will do less days, but at a higher price. We'll also be delighted to help you plan your stay in Edinburgh, if you wish; we're good at welcoming and friendly, personal service. . Please ask for more details. We'll be happy to help you find a huge selection of restaurants, bars, museums and spas very nearby.

    Each apartment has 2 bedrooms, one has a king-sized bed, and an en-suite shower room with a toilet and wash-hand basin. The second bedroom has 2 twin beds (there is a second full bathroom, with a shower to bath, entered from the hall) The large bed may be split into two narrow singles, or the twin beds fixed together, for a small charge. We can also provide a folding bed, or cost (and high chairs) again at a small charge Our basic prices are for occupancy by 4 people. We can provide additional bed spaces as follows - - The lounge has a bed settee, which is comfortable, but not as comfortable as a bed - it's a small double size, with a sprung mattress - We can also add a folding bed to the twin bedroom, although this would only be comfortable for small person or a child - We can also provide cots and high chairs, on request. Here are the additional prices - 2 or less people - 10% discount cot, linen and high chair package - £10 fixed amount additional guest, including use of either bed-settee or folding bed £20 pp, fixed amount provide bed settee or folding bed in addition to existing beds £10 each, fixed amount

    If you are driving to the apartment, I recommend you approach Old Tolbooth Wynd from Calton Road; the Canongate end comes through a tight tunnel under a tenement.

    Even if you have a sat-nav in your vehicle, we still recommend a map to accompany you. (These are quite new apartments and don’t always show up on older sat-navs for some reason) You can find a Google map on our web-site, which is www.athollbrae.co.uk

    Your booking includes parking for one car in the garage, if you wish to use it.

    Train arrivals

     

    It’s an easy walk (5 – 10 minutes) from the back of Waverley station – provided you use the exit 4 to Calton Road.  The exit goes up and down two short, wide flights of stairs. Turn right and it’s the second opening on the right, then the second door up the street (keep out of the courtyards, wait for the street).  If you’re laden or tired, there is a taxi rank in the station.

     

    Airport arrivals

     

    There is a taxi rank at the airport, and a taxi will cost around £25 to the door.  There is also an airport bus, but it doesn’t come very close to the apartment and the walk will talk 10 – 15 minutes, up and down hills.  I’d go for the taxi myself.
