Catering

  • Eating Out Facilities within 2 miles - The Kingaroch Inn is an excelent local resteaurant within an easy 10 minute walk of Bag End cottage. Fife also boasts a wide selection of award winning eating-places, many of which are a short drive from Bag End Cottage.
  • Shop within 2 Miles / Mobile Shop - The nearest village of Ceres has an excelent Spar selling all food, drinks and provisions. There is a superb local butcher also in Ceres. Cupar iis well serviced with shops, supermarkets etc and is a 10 min drive.

Children

  • Children Welcome - Bag End welcomes children of all ages and supplies, games, DVDs, TVs in the bedrooms, outdoor games, a large climbing frame, swings and a large outdoor play area.
  • Cot Available - Bag End supplies a proper Mothercare wooden cot on request. You are required to bring your own cot linen.
  • Highchair Available - Bag End supplies a highchair on request
  • Outdoor Play Area - Double tower climbing frame with adult and baby swings in the garden of the cottage for guests to use. Open area where children can play football etc. There is also a giant chess set and patio where the adults can play.

  • Drying Facilities - Tumble dryer, indoor clothes airer and outdoor drying facilities all provided. The indoor coat and boot cupboard can also be heated to dry wet things.
  • Electric Cooker - Neff fan oven provided.
  • Electric Shaver Point - Shaver points both upstairs and downstairs. Both bathroom mirrors are also heated to prevent misting when shaving.
  • Freezer - 3 large drawers provided as part of the Fridge / Freezer

  • Heating Throughout Property - Very comfortable underfloor heating downstairs and full central heating upstairs. Bag End cottage is modern, super insulated and is both warm in winter and cool in summer. This is definitely not you’re traditional draughty Fife Cottage!
  • Indoor Drying Facility - Tumble dryer, indoor clothes airer and outdoor drying facilities all provided. The indoor coat and boot cupboard can also be heated to dry wet things.

  • Ironing Facilities - Iron and Ironing board provided
  • Kitchen - Very modern, well fitted and very well stocked kitchen. You will not have to bring your own pans! Often described as better fitted than guests kitchen at home.
  • Laundry Facilities on Complex - Washer dryer in cottage. Indoor and outdoor drying facilities also available.
  • Linen Provided - All bed linen is crisp white cotten. Egyptian cotton towels are also provided. There is an option of Feather or manmade pillows and there is a well stocked cupbaord with extra blankets, pillows etc.
  • Lounge - Mixed seating, Flat screen Freeview TV & DVD player. Large DVD libray, Ipod dock. There is also direct acess to the garden.

  • Outdoor Drying Facility - Whirligig in the large garden and a large patio where clothes / beach towels etc can be left to dry in the lovely Fife sunshine.
  • Shared Bathroom - Family bathroom with Shower, WC, sink and large roll top bath. Shaver point and heated demista mirrors. The fan is even on a seperate switch so you can have a bath in peace!
  • Shower - Modern power shower with plenty of hot water.
  • Toilets - There is a toilet in the main family batrhoom and a smaller downstairs WC is also available.
  • Towels Provided - All towels are Egyptian cotton. We also supply towels that can be taken to the beach.
  • Tumble Dryer - Washer / dryer provided
  • Wash Hand Basin - The family bathroom and the downstairs WC both have large washbasins. Both also have heated mirrors.
  • Washing Machine - Washer / dryer provided

  • No Smoking Permitted - For the comfort of all current and future guests, Bag End is strictly no smoking.
  • Picnic Area - Bag End has a large garden, including an orchard, a play area and a large patio with a large picnic table for outdoor dining.

Location

  • Coastal Location - Bag End is in central Fife and as such is only a short car journey to many blue flag beaches. We provide, beach mats, beach towels and often have buckets, spades & fishing nets available.
  • Rural Location - Bag End cottage is in the heart of the Fife countryside surrounded by rolling hills and affluent farmland. Chance Inn itself is a small hamlet of houses with easy access to good walks and beautiful views.
  • Village Location - Chance Inn is a small hamlet of about 25 houses in the rolling fife countryside. The historic village of Ceres which has a Spar, a butchers, an art gallery, an antique shop, 2 pubs and has been descibed as Scotland prettiest village is 1 mile away.

Special Requirements

  • Allergy Sufferers - A choice of bed linen is available. Downstairs is all tiled flooring and the cottage is kept spotlessly clean. Please enquire if you have specific needs.
  • Business Travellers - We often get visiting Proffessors teaching at StAndrews and can offer loger lets in the quieter months on request.
  • Children Welcome - Bag End is our family home and as such is very welcoming of children of all ages
  • Families - Bag End is very much a family home and is set up predominantly for families and small groups.
  • Groups Welcome - Bag End often caters for friends reunions, wedding parties, Birthdays etc,
  • No Pets Allowed - Bag End has chosen to remain Pet Free. This allows us to maintain high levels of cleanliness and allows us to give confidence to guests with allergies.

  • On Public Transport Route - The local public bus route is a 5 minutes walk from Bag End.
