Balliefurth Wood Cottage is a lovely house in a secluded woodland location in the Balliefurth Woods overlooking the River Spey. It sits in its own enclosed garden extending to 1 acre, and which merges into the adjacent woods.
The house is in a very secluded location which is accessed from a private track, yet is within easy reach of local amenities..
Situated in the Cairngorm National Park beside the River Spey, the house has a splendid view across the River and the Strath to the hills beyond.
The cosy sun lounge allows has views on three sides across the garden. Large sunny yet sheltered garden with patio areas to the rear and the side of the house.
Red squirrels, roe deer and other wildlife are often seen in garden and immediately adjacent woodland.
In a rural location with nearby amenities including shops, restaurants, places to visit and many activities both indoors and out. Nethy Bridge and Grantown-on-Spey are only 2 miles away, and the highland resort of Aviemore 13 miles.
Excellent for outdoor and country pursuits all year round. The Nethy Strath wetlands and Abernethy forest provide many opportunities for birdwatchers, and the Boat of Garten osprey observatory is only a short distance away.
The Speyside Way long distance path is 200 yards away, and can be reached without going on a public road. All the activities of the Cairngorms National Park are on your doorstep - gentle strolls, long walks and cycle tours. Many activities in the Abernethy forest can be started from the house. Local attractions include potteries, distilleries, rural activities and high mountain challenges as well as a drive through zoo. You can also take part in watersports at Loch Morlich and on the River Spey, and get a rush of adrenaline at the adventure playgrounds. There are also do-your-own crafts and indoor sports for rainy days.
If you are looking for winter sports, half an hour in car will take you to the Ski slopes of either Cairngorm or the Lecht. There is also a bus that stops at the road end which will take you all the way to the Cairgorm ski area.
Back in the house, enjoy cosy evenings in the lounge (wood burning stove and freesat Satellite TV), family meals in the dining room, and cooking in the well equipped kitchen.
