Welcome to Balmacara Mains Guesthouse - Fàilte oirbh
Balmacara Mains is an elegant, lovingly restored guesthouse with an excellent loch side location.
Set down a private road, surrounded by mature forest and with panoramic views over Loch Alsh and Skye, The Mains is an ideal base for exploring this beautiful part of the North West Highlands. With stunning views of the sea and mountains of Skye, Kintail and Knoydart beyond, this is a romantic hideaway where you can totally relax.
The property itself is peacefully located on the shores of Loch Alsh so you can wake up to the sound of the sea and a short stroll away is the National Trust's mature woodland gardens.
Rooms are stylish and spacious, finished to a high standard. Every room has Egyptian cotton sheets, stone tiled shower rooms or spacious bathrooms, flat screened tv and tea/coffee tray. We have a range of rooms; super king, double and twin. We also have one family suite available.
Wake up to the sound of the sea and a wonderful breakfast; fresh fruit and yoghurt, full Scottish cooked breakfast, scrambled free range eggs and smoked salmon or our national dish, porridge, with a choice of accompaniments.
Friendly, local staff have a great knowledge of the area and can help tailor your stay. We can provide picnics, packed lunches and guidebooks as well as washing and drying facilities.
