    A warm Hebridean welcome awaits you at Balranald View where we offer Tea, Coffee and home baked scones on day time arrival (up to 5pm). 

    Both our guest rooms face the front of the house and offer panormic views out across the Balranald Nature reserve and the Machair to the sea and the village of Hougharry.  Each room has a King size bed with crisp fresh linen and has been individually designed to offer a high level of comfort in a style and quality that is maintained throughout.  Each is equipped with flat screen TV with freeview and CD/DVD – a small selection of both are on offer for guests’ use. 

    Complimentary coffee and a selection of teas along with fresh milk can be enjoyed from fine china while a cold drink may be sipped from a crystal glass. 

    Pamper yourself with our selection of toiletries then wrap up and relax in the towelling dressing gown and slippers we also provide.

    Road Directions

    From Lochmaddy TIC via the A865 turn right at Balranald (Baile Raghail) and Balranald View is the 3rd house on the left. From Lochmaddy via the A867 south to Clachan, turn right towards Bayhead and onward to the sign for Balranald (Baile Raghail) where you turn left and Balranald View is the 3rd house on the left.

    Public Transport Directions

    By Rail
    To Oban from Glasgow Queen Street Station to connect with the ferry to Lochboisdale in South Uist then by car or bus North to North Uist.

    By Air
    From Glasgow or Inverness to Benbecula Airport – 18 miles – drive noth following signs for Lochmaddy to the junction at Clachan. From there, keep left and follow the A865 towards Bayhead and onwar to the sign for Balranald (Baile Raghail)
    where you turn left and Balranald View is the 3rd house on the left.


    By Ferry
    From Lochmaddy – 15 miles – follow the road to Clachan then turn right and follow the A865 as above. From Lochboisdale, drive north to Clachan, keep left on to the A865 and follow directions as above.
