Barlochan Caravan Park

Overview

This superb park's beautifully landscaped grounds house a range of comfortable holiday caravans for hire, many with spectacular sea views, as well as touring caravan and camping pitches. There is range of onsite activities to keep you entertained including an outdoor swimming pool, mini golf, TV and games rooms, as well as a well-stocked coarse fishing loch.

The small village of Palnackie, with its picturesque harbour, is only a few minutes away, and the local towns of Castle Douglas, Dalbeattie and Dumfries are all within easy reach, making Barlochan an ideal base for exploring. Castle Douglas is known as Scotland's Food Town and has lots of independently owned specialist food shops, including the award-winning In House Chocolates, where you can pick up scrumptious handmade chocolates. In Dalbeattie, you can ride the first-class trails of the 7stanes mountain biking centres and beyond the town, just a 10 minute drive along the quiet, roads you will find the lovely beach of Sandyhills, excellent sailing facilities at Kippford and the beautiful seaside cove of Rockcliffe. Here you are also ideally located for visiting the beautiful Threave Gardens, head a little further on to Threave Castle - ring the bell for the boatman to take you across to visit the magnificent 14th century ruined tower!
