An attractive small campsite, next to the Locher Burn and the offices of Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park.
The site has a camping field as well as a dedicated group use facilities block with kitchen, dining/meeting room, drying room, shower and toilet facilties. Organised groups also have the option to use the shielings - there are 8 wooden tents with a light and small heater.
The site is not suitable for caravans.
It can be a quite - mobile phone reception can be patchy, you can listen to the Locher Burn meander pass or take advantage of the nearby Locherwood Community Woodland for walks and wildlife watching - there are also views to Loch Lomond National Park and a link route (5.5km, hill walking boots essential) to Muirshiel Visitor Centre and Country Park.
The only outdoor centre in west central Scotland is only 5 km away at Castle Semple Country Park, its a great place to learn to sail or kayak for example.
