Ballantrae Holiday Cottages - self catering by the sea

Beach Cottage (sleeps 6) is one of three stone and whitewashed beach houses right on the sea front tucked away in a peaceful location at the edge of the west coast seaside village of Ballantrae in South Ayrshire.

Here you can walk, rest, relax and enjoy the many activities to be found in this wild and unspoilt coastal region of hills and heather. Beach Cottage has been thoughtfully designed in a traditional style from eco-friendly materials providing modern comfort. Harbour Green is a superb holiday location and rural retreat situated next to the picturesque old harbour within a conservation area. Spectacular sea views from each cottage focus directly across the bay to Ailsa Craig, Isle of Arran, Mull of Kintyre and Northern Ireland.

The cottage provide luxury eco-friendly beachside holiday accommodation. All the cottages are beautifully furnished with a fresh coastal touch - White Company bedlinen, duvets, pillows and towels are included as well as logs, underfloor heating and much more. Each cottage has its own private large garden with a lawn, traditional picket fencing, garden furniture, terraced area and barbecue. The cottage includes the use of many features from books & jigsaws to shrimping nets and wifi to add enjoyment to your holiday in this unique location. Well behaved dogs are welcome. There is excellent mobile telephone reception.

Ballantrae is a friendly Scottish village - it has a pub, a garage, bank, two public tennis courts, childrens playground, putting green, three cafes and a shop which is open every day of the week. It is 12 miles south of Girvan and 17 miles from Stranraer in South Ayrshire, South West Scotland.

There are wonderful walks from right outside Harbour Green. The Ayrshire Coastal path passes in front of the area and the four mile beach is at the doorstep. Other activities available locally include wonderful golf courses, fishing on the River Stinchar, hill walking, exploring hill villages and the Galloway Forest Park, wonderful west coast gardens to visit, trips to Culzean Castle, Dumfries House, Glasgow, Ayr & the Robbie Burns Museum, Belfast (the ferry terminal is only 10 miles away) boat trips to Ailsa Craig and much more.

BEACH COTTAGE - sleeps 6.

The largest of the Harbour Green Cottages is very spacious with a very large living area.

Ground Floor: Porch with glass windows and hooks for coats; Hall, Cloakroom with WC and wash hand basin; Utility Room with washing machine and drying facilities. Living Room with comfortable seating, a dining table that can seat up to 10 people and a fantastic well equipped kitchen. Twin Bedroom which can be made up as a super king double on request with large en suite bathroom with bath with glass screen and overbath shower, wc and wash hand basin.

Upstairs: Twin bedroom with en suite shower room and fabulous sea views.
Double bedroom with ensuite shower room, king size double bed and fabulous sea views.

TV, DVD player, ipod dock, wifi, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge freezer, microwave, fan oven, gas hob, wood burning stove (logs provided), full underfloor central heating, bed linen and towels included. Large private enclosed lawned garden with furniture and barbecue. Cot and high chair on request.
