    Beechcroft is a Georgian house situated at Balbirnie Street in Markinch, Glenrothes.   It is set in a beautiful walled garden on the edge of the picturesque Scottish village of Markinch close to Edinburgh, St Andrews, Carnoustie, Kingsbarns and 10 mins walk to a local 18-hole golf course at Balbirnie Park.  It is a 10-minute walk to the local Markinch Railway Station which takes you to Edinburgh’s shopping district in 40 mins. 
    It is an ideal vacation base for family and friends as there are many activities for golfers and non-golfers. There are a great deal of activities  such as forest walks, bird watching, Rhododendron collection in Balbirnie Estate, Arts & Craft Centre and a short drive to trekking, horse riding, fishing, Scottish Deer Centre, Whisky trail and shopping.

    The character of the house is enhanced by a spacious interior complete with some original traditional detailing such as cornices, fireplaces and the original servants' bells.  It has 4 double bedrooms plus a Drawing Room, Dining Room and a spacious kitchen. 

    The house is also ideal for boutique weddings, corporate offsite meetings, corporate events for golfers and non golfers.

        Travelling by Road

    • Follow signs to Forth Road Bridge
    • Exit at Junction 2A
    • Follow signs to Glenrothes, Kirkcaldy and Tay Bridge (A92)
    • Drive through 4 Roundabouts. At the 4th Roundabout (Tullis Russell Roundabout) turn right on B9130 and follow signs to Markinch.
    • Proceed into the village and look out for our sign

    Public Transport Directions

    Travelling by train from Waverly station Edinburgh.

     Trains going to Perth via Kirkcardy or to Dundee will alight at Markinch Station. Trains run frequently throughout the day,  with ticket pricing      around £10.60 in off peak times (first class ticket £13.80)  travel time aprox 40-45 mins

     Taxi from Edinburgh Airport

     Taxi's will cost around £80 from the airport to our front door.


     There is a bus service every half hour during the day to take you to the Kingdom Centre in Glenrothes, where there are connecting buses to    Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dumfermline, St Andrews and Dundee
