Located near the picturesque town Dalbeattie and the bustling market town of Dumfries, this excellent park offers a tranquil haven and a great base for exploring this beautiful corner of Scotland.
The park and surrounding area is abundant with wildlife - perfect for birdwatching - and the region's beautiful coastal paths, rolling forests and quiet roads are great for walking and cycling. If you enjoy golf there is a choice of 30 courses within easy reach while for anglers, well-stocked rivers such as the River Nith which is renowned for its salmon is easily accessible.
Dumfries was once the home Robert Burns and still enjoys links to our National Bard through fantastic visitor attractions including the Robert Burns Centre and House. The Family History Research Centre and the Dumfries Museum and Camera Obscura also offer a great day out while nearby, Dalbeattie has an excellent museum and is home to one of the world-class 7stanes mountain biking centres.
