Berryhill Cottage

Overview

Being on one level, it is particularly convenient for families with small children and less able visitors, and it has the added bonus of an extra toilet in addition to the fully fitted bathroom. There is ample car parking and the garden provides a safe play area for children and pets.

Berryhill Cottage enjoys a rural location, while also benefiting from the local amenities of nearby Peterhead. This bustling town is home to the largest white fish port in Europe and was immortalised in the hit TV series Trawlermen. The cottage is an ideal base for touring North East Scotland with its rugged coastline and unspoilt beaches, including the one at Pennan, a charming fishing village to the north which found fame in the film Local Hero. Inland, explore Castle Country, or follow the Whisky trail around Speysides distilleries: both are easily accessible in a day trip. Perched precariously on the rocks a few miles south is dramatic Slains Castle, which inspired the story of Dracula. The National Trust for Scotland and Historic Scotland manage a number of historic properties and gardens in the area. The cosmopolitan but historical city of Aberdeen, Europes oil capital, is less than an hours drive away.

The cottage is within walking distance of the pedestrianised Buchan railway line which provides an excellent route for walkers and cyclists throughout the Buchan area and all the way to Aberdeen. There is a choice of Championship golf courses nearby, along with bird-watching, pony trekking and salmon fishing on the River Ugie, while shooting parties are also well catered for locally.

Unlimited use of Berryhills own golf driving range and a round at one of the excellent local links courses can be arranged for a small additional fee. Professional golf lessons and more extensive golf tours can also be arranged for visiting parties.
