Bleachfield Cottage, Huntly

Overview

It also enjoys a setting on the banks of the River Bogie and within a large secluded garden of flowers and shrubs, surrounded by mature Ash, Elm, Spruce and Birch trees which lends it to truce peace and tranquillity; This along with its sunny position facing South West and with a children's play park adjacent, and although within the Town itself, allows its visitors to relax and enjoy its rural surroundings.

For those who wish to sight see and tour, Huntly is ideally situated in the heart of Grampian Region to commence a tour of the Malt Whisky Trail or some of the seventy Castles in Aberdeenshire, including the dramatic ruins of both Huntly and Kildrummy Castles, or the delightfully furnished Castle Fraser or Craigievar Castle.

The spectacular scenery of the Grampian Highlands and Royal Deeside are but a short car journey from your holiday home, and for the fisherman there is splendid Trout and Salmon fishing on Huntly's own Town Waters - The Rivers Deveron, Bogie and Isla - at moderate cost.

There are many events, festivals, concerts and Highland Games all year round in Grampian Highlands and Aberdeen, and a copy of "What's On" will be found at the Cottage.
The land on which Bleachfield Cottage is built was originally owned by the Duke of Richmond and Gordon, who in 1823 feued if to an uncle of The Rev. George McDonald - that well known author who was born in Huntly, and Bleachfield Cottage was built at that time. It came into the present owners possession in 1991, since when, ever mindful of the influence of the Scottish weather has refurbished, extended and decorated in an individual style to create a warm, homely and comfortable atmosphere in which to enjoy your holiday.

It is a traditional Scottish Cottage, built with Granite stone and with a slated roof and as previously stated, sited within a large well tended garden. The accommodation includes a large kitchen / dining room with all the facilities that you would expect within your own home, including gas/electric cooker, microwave oven, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer.

The Cottage sleeps six persons within one double bedroom and two twin bedded rooms, with a centrally placed bathroom furnished with bath, shower, W.C., bidet and wash basin.

For your comfort, it is heated by gas central heating with radiators throughout and there is a natural flame gas fire in the lounge, and for your entertainment there is a 42 inch television in the lounge and a 26 inch one in the dining area.

The adjacent children's play park will keep your children amused and entertained for hours, whilst the adult visitors may relax and enjoy their surroundings.
