Set in 64 hectares and surrounded by the picturesque scenery of nearby Auchencairn Bay and the hills of Bengairn and Screel to the rear, this traditional stone farmhouse offers a warm welcome and a fantastic stay in this beautiful corner of Scotland. Each of the three well-appointed and spacious bedrooms enjoy pretty countryside views and are beautifully furnished, include a TV, alarm clock radio, hairdryer and tea or coffee facilities and have either modern en suite facilities or a private bathroom. The largest room has twin zip and link beds which form a comfortable super king-size double.
A sunken cedar hottub, set in a decked area, is available for guests use. It is at a constant 40 degrees. This is a perfect way to end the day, relax and take in the view across the fields.
A delicious Galloway breakfast is served each morning in the quiet and intimate dining room. Fill up a full Scottish breakfast with all the trimmings or one of the tasty lighter options. If you are heading out early an earlier breakfast can be served at a time to suit you.
Around Auchencairn there are several fine walks to enjoy as well as excellent opportunities for other leisure activities, such as golfing, sea and loch fishing, boating and sailing and cycling - idyllic Heston Island is well worth a visit when the tide is out! Adventure seekers will love the 7stanes mountain biking centres at Dalbeattie Forest (10 miles away), Mabie Forest (16 miles away), Kirroughtree Forest approximately 20 miles and several activity centres throughout the region offer other adrenalin filled pursuits.
Here you also ideally located for exploring the Artists' Town of Kirkcudbright, the Food Town of Castle Douglas and the historic market town of Dumfries. After your adventurous days exploring, Bluehill's conservatory provides the perfect place in which to relax with a favourite book.
